Job Title: HGV Technician
Location: Aquila Truck Centres – Kingsbury
Job Type: Full-time
About the Role
Aquila Truck Centres is looking for a skilled and motivated HGV Technician to join our Kingsbury workshop team. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a professional dealership environment, carrying out servicing, maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy commercial vehicles to the highest standards.
The successful candidate will be committed to delivering quality workmanship while ensuring vehicles are repaired efficiently and safely to maximise customer uptime.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine servicing, inspections, maintenance, and repairs on HGVs.
- Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults using manufacturer diagnostic equipment.
- Complete MOT preparation and ensure vehicles meet all legal and safety standards.
- Perform preventative maintenance in accordance with operator schedules.
- Accurately complete job cards, inspection sheets, and supporting documentation.
- Work efficiently to achieve productivity and quality targets.
- Follow all company health and safety procedures and maintain a clean, organised workspace.
- Participate in ongoing manufacturer and technical training as required.
- Support colleagues and contribute to a positive team environment.

Essential Requirements
- Qualified HGV Technician (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
- Experience servicing and repairing heavy commercial vehicles.
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
- Good understanding of vehicle electrical and mechanical systems.
- Full UK driving licence (HGV licence advantageous but not essential).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Desirable Requirements

- Previous experience with Pet Reg (Petroleum Regulations) inspections and repairs is preferred.
- Experience working within a franchised dealership environment.
- IRTEC accreditation (desirable).
- Manufacturer training or experience with MAN or other leading HGV brands would be advantageous.
