HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic Kensington, W14 8PT
Hours: 45 hours per week | 9 hours per day (09:00–18:00, Mon–Fri) Salary: £45,372.23 – £53,436.24 pa (DOE)
Do you enjoy working on vehicles and take pride in delivering high-quality, reliable workmanship? We’re searching for a skilled and dependable HGV Technician to join our Aftermarket team.
This hands-on role is perfect for someone who excels at problem-solving, values meticulous workmanship, and thrives in a supportive team. You’ll play a crucial part in maintaining and repairing refuse collection vehicles, ensuring they remain safe, compliant, and operational for our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on chassis and mounted equipment
- Service vehicles to VOSA standards and assist with MOT inspection preparations
- Perform body and chassis repairs in line with Department for Transport specifications
- Maintain accurate records and update job details in company systems
- Build positive relationships with customers, including independent site-based work
- Deliver safety-conscious, efficient, and high-quality work at all times
- Follow health and safety procedures, including completing risk assessments
- Participate in training and development to enhance skills

About You: Key Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance
- Experience in commercial vehicle repair and servicing
- Strong fault diagnosis and troubleshooting skills
- Confident with electronics, hydraulics, and wiring diagrams
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Ability to work independently with self-managed workloads
- Flexible willingness to travel and, if required, work overtime
Advantageous but not essential:
- Experience with electric vehicles
- IRTEC qualification
- HGV Class 2 licence
