Monday to Friday, 08:00–16:30
One Saturday in two, 05:00–13:00
Job Description
An excellent opportunity has become available for an experienced HGV Technician to join a well-established commercial vehicle maintenance business based in Erith.
You will be responsible for carrying out high-quality, safe and compliant maintenance and repair work on a varied fleet of heavy commercial vehicles and trailers.
This is a permanent position offering regular daytime hours, additional overtime opportunities and access to ongoing technical and manufacturer training.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs, trailers and associated commercial vehicles
- Completing routine vehicle inspections and preventative maintenance
- Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults
- Identifying worn or defective components in line with DVSA standards
- Working with the wider workshop team to plan and complete vehicle repairs
- Completing all relevant job cards, maintenance records and warranty documentation
- Keeping the workshop, tools and equipment clean, safe and organised
- Providing roadside or off-site repair support when required

Desired Skills And Experience
To be considered for this position, you should have:
- City and Guilds, NVQ Level 3, IMI qualification or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
- Previous experience maintaining and repairing HGVs or other heavy commercial vehicles
- A strong understanding of DVSA inspection and maintenance standards
- The ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical faults
- A full UK driving licence
- Good communication, organisation and teamwork skills
Experience working with trailers, tail lifts, LOLER equipment or mixed commercial vehicle fleets would be advantageous.
