Role Description
The HGV Technician role is a full-time, on-site position based at A. Culpin & Son Limited in Spalding. The technician will carry out diagnostics, repairs, and routine maintenance on Volvo trucks and buses, ensuring work is completed to manufacturer standards and within agreed timeframes.

The role involves using workshop equipment and diagnostic tools, following health and safety procedures, and collaborating with colleagues and service advisors to deliver a high level of customer service. The technician will also contribute to maintaining a clean, organized workshop and may support MOT preparation and breakdown repairs as required.
Qualifications
- Experience as an HGV Technician or similar role, with strong skills in vehicle diagnostics, mechanical repairs, and routine servicing of heavy goods vehicles.
- Familiarity with Volvo trucks and buses, or other commercial vehicle brands, including the use of manufacturer diagnostic equipment and technical documentation.
- Relevant technical qualifications, such as NVQ/City & Guilds Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong understanding of vehicle safety standards, MOT requirements, and workshop health and safety practices.
- Ability to read and interpret technical information, complete job cards and service records accurately, and communicate clearly with colleagues and customers.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced workshop environment, with good time management and problem-solving skills.
- Full UK driving licence; an HGV licence would be an advantage but is not essential.
- Willingness to undertake ongoing training and development, including Volvo-specific technical training where required.
