We are looking for an experienced HGV Technician
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled technician who takes pride in delivering high-quality work and wants to be part of a professional, supportive workshop environment.
You will be responsible for diagnosing, servicing, repairing and maintaining a wide range of Heavy Goods Vehicles, ensuring they remain safe, reliable and fully compliant with legal and manufacturer standards.
The role will involve a mixture of routine servicing, inspections, diagnostics and more complex mechanical, electrical and electronic repairs.
Working Hours
- 0600 - 1430 or 1330 - 2200 with 30-min break, alternating each week
- Overtime paid at Time and a Half
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnosing, repairing and maintaining HGVs to a high standard
- Carrying out routine servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance
- Completing mechanical, electrical and electronic fault diagnosis
- Identifying faults efficiently and carrying out appropriate repairs
- Working across a variety of commercial vehicle systems and components
- Ensuring vehicles meet all relevant safety, legal and compliance requirements
- Completing accurate job cards and recording work carried out
- Recording parts used and maintaining clear workshop documentation
- Working closely with colleagues to minimise vehicle downtime
- Providing clear technical information where required
- Using workshop tools, diagnostic equipment and machinery safely and correctly
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment
- Following all relevant health and safety procedures and workshop policies

What We're Looking For
- A recognised Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or equivalent
- Previous experience working as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic or Commercial Vehicle Technician
- Strong mechanical knowledge and practical repair experience
- Experience diagnosing electrical and electronic vehicle faults
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- A full UK driving licence
- A good understanding of health and safety within a workshop environment
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a wider workshop team
- A Class 1 HGV licence would be advantageous but is not essential.
