The Role

Are you a qualified HGV Technician looking for a role that offers a great work-life balance without compromising on the variety and challenge of the work?

We're looking for a skilled Fleet / HGV Technician with an NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair to join our Transport Services team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a busy workshop environment supporting the maintenance of approximately 2,300 company assets, including around 300 HGV vehicles, while benefiting from a Monday to Friday working pattern.

As part of our fast-paced Transport Services team, you'll play a key role in ensuring our fleet remains safe, reliable and compliant. You'll undertake servicing, repairs, diagnostics and HGV MOT preparation work, using your technical expertise to identify and rectify faults while supporting the efficient operation of the workshop.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a qualified and safety-conscious Fleet / HGV Technician with an NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair and experience of working on HGVs and commercial fleet vehicles.

You'll be someone who:

  • Has a strong understanding of fleet maintenance compliance requirements and is committed to ensuring vehicles are maintained safely and legally.
  • Has experience carrying out maintenance, servicing and repairs on a range of assets, including HGVs, trailers and plant equipment.
  • Is confident in performing fault finding and diagnostics, providing technical expertise to support the accurate and safe completion of maintenance activities.
  • Takes a proactive approach to health and safety, helping to identify and minimise risks within a workshop environment.
  • Understands the importance of delivering against service standards and KPIs, ensuring vehicles are available, reliable and fit for purpose.
  • Has good organisational skills and can effectively manage parts and inventory requirements through liaison with suppliers and internal colleagues.
  • Enjoys working as part of a team, supporting and mentoring apprentices while helping to maintain a safe and productive workshop environment.
  • Demonstrates excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
