About the Role

Greenhous DAF Birmingham is now seeking a skilled, motivated and reliable Night HGV Technician to join our expanding, high-performing after-hours workshop team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a market-leading brand in a professional, fully equipped and fast-paced environment.

You will play a key role in maintaining and repairing customer vehicles to the highest standards, ensuring maximum vehicle uptime, minimising downtime and keeping fleets operating safely and efficiently on the road.

We are looking for an individual who takes pride in delivering quality workmanship, demonstrates strong attention to detail and is committed to providing exceptional service at all times.

In addition to the responsibilities outlined above and below, the successful candidate may be required to undertake other duties as necessary to support the ongoing needs and success of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs and trailers.
  • Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults.
  • Complete vehicle inspections and prepare vehicles for MOT testing.
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with manufacturer and DVSA standards.
  • Accurately complete job cards and service documentation.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop.
  • Work independently when required, particularly on night shifts.

Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified HGV Technician (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
  • Experience working on HGVs (DAF experience advantageous but not essential).
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
  • HGV Class 1 or 2 licence desirable.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Positive, reliable and proactive attitude.

Salary and Hours

  • Salary: OTE £50,000 per annum
  • Hours: Tuesday to Friday, 7.45 pm to 6.15 am, i.e. 42 hours per week, 20 minutes paid break.
