Commercial Vehicle Technician (Saturday to Monday Night Shift)

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and conscientious Commercial Vehicle Technician to join the Aftermarket Department at our Preston site, with hours from 7pm to 7am covering weekends and early mornings.

About the Role

Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the primary responsibilities include:

  • Undertaking maintenance and repair activities on commercial vehicles/trailers of all types
  • Diagnosing faults and carrying out diagnostic tests on vehicles
  • Effecting permanent and complete repairs

Additional key duties include:

  • Completing paperwork and procedures for warranty, contract, and retail work
  • Conducting preventative maintenance to minimise unnecessary customer costs
  • Supporting team objectives through any other duties reasonably within capability as instructed

Requirements

Candidates must possess the following:

  • A relevant qualification, such as City & Guilds or another adequate certification at NVQ Level 2 or above in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance
  • Proven experience in:
    • Diagnosing and servicing vehicles
    • Maintenance and repair of vehicles, with particular emphasis on commercial vehicles
  • An organised, methodical approach to problem-solving, with a strong attention to detail
  • Taken and kept manufacturer training courses updated, staying current with technical methods and data
  • A full and current UK driving licence (HGV licence preferred, but not essential)
