About the Role
Most technician jobs advertise a salary and go quiet about the shift pattern. Ours is 40 hours, Monday to Friday. Early and late alternating week about — 05:00 to 13:30 one week, 12:30 to 21:00 the next. Half-hour lunch. No nights, no four-on-four-off.
£37,500 – £45,000, which is £18.03 to £21.63 an hour. With the alternate Saturdays paid on top, that comes out at £41,250 to £49,500.
Immediate start available. And if the standard pattern does not suit you — four days, compressed hours, a different start time — say so at the first conversation and we will look at it properly.
Every other Saturday too, 06:00 to 14:00, paid on top of your 40 and going to one in three once we've got another technician in. We're telling you that up front rather than at the interview.
The bigger annual figures around Gatwick are nights or four-on-four-off. Divide them by the hours actually worked and the gap narrows a long way. Then decide what a night shift has been costing you.

About Us
We're a family-run business in Newhaven, established 1975, and we're doubling the workshop team because the work is there. In the next 12–24 months we're converting the warehouse into a three-bay workshop with an MOT centre — so there's a route into running a lane or the MOT operation for whoever wants it.
What the Work Looks Like
- Our own fleet, kept under three years old on a replacement policy
- Third-party commercial vehicles and coaches from operators across East Sussex — including pre-fleet inspections on brand new kit
- A small, experienced team under Lee Hamlet, where people come and look at a problem with you
Tools supplied. Overtime at your standard hourly rate, available but never compulsory. 20 days' holiday plus bank holidays, and a company pension you're enrolled into automatically. There's a credit union you can save into, and borrow from, straight out of your wages. And the workshop is in on the team breakfasts, the BBQs and the days out, same as the drivers.

What We Need
A qualified HGV or PSV technician, Level 3 or equivalent, who can diagnose properly. Someone who wants to actually fix things, not just swap parts on a stopwatch. MOT tester ticket is a bonus, not a requirement — we'll fund it.
We hold the Silver Armed Forces Covenant award and four of our team previously served. If you're REME, your training maps onto this more closely than you'd think — get in touch even if you're still serving.
