Location: Grantham, Lincolnshire
Salary: £42,640 per year - £49,036 with Saturdays
Additional Earnings: Alternate Saturdays paid at 1.5x per hour (1.5x overtime rate)
Job Type: Full-Time
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, alternating weekly shifts: 06:00-14:00 and 14:00-22:00, plus alternate Saturdays

ISQ Recruitment is recruiting an HGV Technician Supervisor to join a well-established commercial vehicle workshop in Grantham. This opportunity combines hands-on truck and trailer maintenance with team leadership, supported by manufacturer training and ongoing professional development.
Ideal for an experienced HGV Technician or HGV Mechanic with leadership experience, the position offers the chance to guide a workshop team, maintain high standards, and help keep a busy commercial fleet on the road.
The Role
You will oversee daily workshop activity, support technicians with technical challenges, and ensure maintenance and repairs are completed safely, accurately, and efficiently. You will remain involved in practical workshop work while helping colleagues develop their skills.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support a team of HGV Technicians, coordinating workloads and maintaining workshop productivity.
- Carry out and oversee servicing, maintenance, fault diagnosis, and repairs on trucks and trailers.
- Provide technical guidance and help resolve more complex faults.
- Identify worn or defective components and ensure work meets manufacturer and relevant DVSA standards.
- Monitor workmanship, maintain accurate maintenance records, and promote safe working practices.
- Support team development through practical guidance, coaching, and sharing technical knowledge.
What We're Looking For
- A Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair through NVQ, City & Guilds, or IMI.
- Previous experience within a fleet or commercial vehicle workshop.
- Strong practical experience maintaining and repairing HGVs and trailers.
- Leadership or supervisory experience, with the confidence to motivate and support technicians.
- A thorough approach to fault-finding, repair quality, and vehicle safety.
- Good communication, organisation, and the ability to prioritise a busy workload.
- A full driving licence covering the relevant vehicle classes.
