Location: Warrington
Hours: 42.5 hours per week
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Salary - £45,000 - £49,000 based on skill set
Potential for a sign on bonus of £2000 for a successful Probation Period


Bibby Commercials is a trusted specialist in HGV and trailer maintenance, repair, fabrication, reconditioning and servicing. Working with major fleet operators and household names, we take pride in delivering exceptional workmanship, reliability and customer service. Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced HGV Technician to join our workshop team.

The Role

As an HGV Technician, you'll be responsible for maintaining, repairing and servicing a wide range of heavy goods vehicles and trailers. You'll work alongside a skilled team of technicians and engineers to ensure vehicles are returned to customers safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.

  • Servicing, maintenance and repair of HGVs and trailers
  • Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic faults
  • Vehicle inspections and preparation for MOT/annual testing
  • Repairs to braking, suspension, steering and drivetrain systems
  • Trailer refurbishment and reconditioning work
  • Welding and fabrication activities (where competent)
  • Completion of job cards and maintenance documentation
  • Ensuring compliance with DVSA and Health & Safety requirements

About You

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has experience within an HGV, commercial vehicle or trailer workshop environment
  • Possesses strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
  • Takes pride in producing high-quality workmanship
  • Works well independently and as part of a team
  • Has a strong commitment to safety and compliance
  • Alternative shift pattern – AM/PM shifts (6-2pm & 2-10pm)

Desirable Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent)
  • IRTEC Accreditation
  • HGV Class 1 (C+E) or Class 2 Licence
  • Welding and fabrication experience
  • Manufacturer-specific training/accreditations
