Job Description
An excellent opportunity has become available for 3 experienced HGV Technicians to join an expanding commercial vehicle workshop based in Cambridgeshire.
Due to the recent award of a significant new contract, the business is increasing its engineering team and is looking for experienced technicians who can ideally start immediately.
You will be joining a well-established, family-run business offering long-term job security, a supportive working environment, and genuine opportunities for career progression.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Carrying out servicing, routine maintenance, and safety inspections on HGVs and commercial vehicles
- Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults using modern diagnostic equipment
- Completing mechanical and electrical repairs to a high standard
- Preparing vehicles for MOT testing in accordance with DVSA requirements
- Identifying worn or defective components and completing required repairs
- Accurately completing job cards, inspection sheets, and workshop documentation
- Ensuring all work complies with Health & Safety requirements and company procedures
- Working with the wider workshop team to maintain vehicle availability

Desired Skills And Experience
To be considered for this position, you should have:
- A minimum of two years' experience as an HGV Technician or Commercial Vehicle Mechanic
- NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or strong time-served experience
- Good mechanical, electrical, diagnostic, and fault-finding skills
- Experience carrying out HGV servicing, inspections, and repairs
- A good understanding of DVSA maintenance standards
- A full UK driving licence
A Class 1 or Class 2 HGV licence would be advantageous but is not essential.
PAY AND HOURS
- Salary is up to £21.00 per hour depending on experience.
- Monday to Friday: 08:00 – 18:30
- Alternate Saturdays: 08:00 – 12:30
