HGV TECHNICIAN – DAYS / NIGHTS

£24ph – £30ph
Basic Salary up to £62,400 + Overtime
Overtime available
OTE £65k+
Two different shift patterns available depending on your preference.
NIGHT SHIFT
£30.00 per hour
£62.5k basic salary before overtime
- Tuesday to Friday
- 20:00 – 06:30
- 4-day working week
- 40 hours per week
Overtime paid at time and a half
ROTATING SHIFT
Up to £24.00 per hour depending on experience
Up to £56k basic salary before overtime
- 45 hours per week
- Monday to Friday
- 06:00 – 15:30 / 12:30 – 22:00 rotating shifts
- Saturdays as required
Job Description
An excellent opportunity has become available for experienced HGV Technicians to join a busy and successful commercial vehicle dealership in West Thurrock.
Due to continued growth and increasing customer demand, the business is recruiting technicians across both its rotating day/evening shift and newly introduced fixed night shift.
You will be working within a modern commercial vehicle workshop carrying out servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on heavy commercial vehicles.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs
- Completing scheduled inspections and preventative maintenance
- Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults using modern diagnostic equipment
- Identifying and repairing defective or worn components
- Ensuring vehicles are maintained to DVSA and manufacturer standards
- Completing all relevant job cards and maintenance documentation
- Working efficiently to maximise vehicle availability and workshop productivity
- Maintaining high standards of workmanship, safety and housekeeping

Desired Skills And Experience
To be considered for either position, you should have:
- NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
- Proven experience working as an HGV Technician, Truck Technician or HGV Mechanic
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Experience working within a commercial vehicle workshop
- A good understanding of modern HGV systems and maintenance standards
- A full UK driving licence
Main dealer experience would be advantageous and may attract the higher rate of pay, although experienced HGV Technicians from independent or fleet workshop backgrounds will also be considered.
