Sapphire Utility Solutions are delighted to announce that due to an increase in our contract with United Utilities that we are seeking a large number of HGV Operatives across the North West to support on our Bucket 1 works.

Location: Carlisle covering the North Lakes

Hours: 42.5 hours per week (based on a 7 week rota)

Salary: £34,269-£38,542 per annum base salary (depending on experience)

On the job earnings: between £35,000-£55,000 per annum with overtime

Overtime rates: For weekday, weekend and Bank Holiday work paid at time and a half

About The Role

The role available will be working from the Carlisle WWTW alongside a United Utilities Customer Support Technician, where you will be required to work on the Bucket 1 reactive contract solving problems on the sewer network. This role will be on a shift-based pattern with working times of 8am to 6pm front shift and 12pm to 10pm back shift. Weekends and Bank Holidays are included.

You will be working closely with a CST (UU Operative) to clean, camera and carry out sewer investigations as directed by United Utilities.

  • Attending to customers, informing them of works to be carried out and answering any concerns as well as timescales
  • Inspect drainage systems to identify blockages, leaks, or damage that could hinder water flow.
  • Carry out all aspects of high pressure water jetting
  • Operate high-pressure water jetting equipment to clean and clear blockages in drains, sewers, pipes, and other wastewater systems.
  • Carry out CCTV inspections where required to assess the condition of underground pipes and sewers.
  • Competent in using an electronic device - laptop / tablet for data entry purposes
  • Ensuring safety issues are reported in line with company procedures
  • Perform routine maintenance and servicing of high-pressure water jetting equipment to ensure it is in proper working order.
