We are seeking a HGV Technician to join our team in Worcester. This is an excellent opportunity to develop specialist skills in cryogenic vehicle maintenance, with full on-the-job training provided to become an Automotive/Cryogenic Vehicle Maintenance Technician.

Working as part of the UK & Ireland Distribution team, you will carry out the maintenance, inspection, diagnostics, and repair of HGVs, trailers, and cryogenic delivery equipment, ensuring all fleet assets are safe, reliable, compliant, and operational.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on HGVs and trailers (3.5t to 44t GVW).
  • Maintain cryogenic vehicle systems, including tanks, pumps, valves, and associated equipment.
  • Diagnose faults using technical diagnostic tools and interpret schematics and technical data.
  • Complete maintenance records accurately using paper and electronic systems.
  • Ensure compliance with DVSA, HSE, and company safety standards.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance, testing, and fault-finding to maximise fleet reliability.
  • Follow safe working practices, risk assessments, and operating procedures.

  • Time-served apprenticeship or qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience in HGV, trailer, or commercial vehicle maintenance.
  • Strong diagnostic, fault-finding, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
  • Good communication, teamwork, and record-keeping skills.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous learning.
