We are looking for an experienced and motivated Hi-Speed Technical Supervisor to lead the safe, compliant and efficient technical operation of our Hi-Speed fleet.

This is a hands-on leadership role that combines onboard engineering expertise with shoreside technical management. You will be responsible for vessel engineering performance, maintenance delivery, defect management, project work and the development of our Hi-Speed technical teams. Working closely with operational and technical stakeholders, you will play a key role in ensuring our vessels remain reliable, compliant and fit for the future.

Location: Southampton Terminal 1 / Vessel / East Cowes as required
Contract: Full Time, Permanent
Working Hours: 42 hours per week, worked flexibly to support operational requirements

What you'll be doing

As Hi-Speed Technical Supervisor, you will:

  • Lead and support the Hi-Speed engineering team, driving high standards of safety, performance and compliance.
  • Take ownership of planned maintenance activities and defect management processes.
  • Ensure vessels remain audit-ready and compliant with statutory, Class and ISM requirements.
  • Manage and support vessel refits, engineering projects and maintenance programmes.
  • Monitor fleet engineering performance, identifying risks, trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support budget management, procurement activities and critical spares planning.
  • Develop team capability through coaching, performance management and continuous professional development.
  • Build strong relationships with operational teams, contractors, suppliers and regulatory bodies.
  • Contribute to fleet standardisation, continuous improvement initiatives and long-term asset planning.

About You

  • A minimum Class 4 Engineer Officer Certificate of Competency (CoC) or equivalent practical experience within High-Speed Craft operations.
  • Significant experience working with MTU engines, including diagnostics, maintenance and performance optimisation.
  • Proven experience in a marine engineering supervisory or leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of planned maintenance systems, defect management and marine compliance requirements.
  • Experience working within Class, Flag, ISM and ISO frameworks.
  • Excellent planning, organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication abilities.
  • Experience of refit planning, contractor management and project delivery would be advantageous.
