Driver Hire Edinburgh City are currently recruiting experienced Class 2 HIAB (Remote Grab) Drivers to work with a well-established builders merchant client across Edinburgh and the surrounding areas.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified HIAB driver looking for stable, full-time Monday to Friday work, competitive rates of pay and the opportunity to secure a permanent position.
🚛 The Role
As a Class 2 HIAB Driver, your responsibilities will include:
- Operating a Class 2 vehicle fitted with a remote grab HIAB crane
- Delivering building materials to construction, commercial and residential sites
- Carrying out multi-drop deliveries safely and efficiently
- Operating the HIAB equipment safely and in accordance with site procedures
- Loading and unloading materials using the remote grab
- Completing daily vehicle safety checks and reporting any defects
- Ensuring loads are secure and transported safely
- Following all relevant health & safety procedures
- Providing professional and friendly customer service at each delivery

🕒 Working Hours
- Monday to Friday
- 8:00am start
- Minimum 40 hours per week guaranteed
- Overtime available depending on business requirements
- Consistent weekday work with weekends generally free
💷 Pay Rates
PAYE
- £16.20 per hour
- £21.50 per hour after 8 hours
PAYE Advanced
- £18.16 per hour
- £24.20 per hour after 8 hours

🪪 Requirements
- Valid UK Class 2 (Category C) licence
- Valid Driver CPC qualification
- Valid Digital Tachograph Card
- ALLMI C5+E HIAB certification – essential
- AITT or RTITB HIAB qualifications also considered
- Previous remote grab HIAB experience preferred
- Strong understanding of health & safety procedures
- Reliable, punctual and professional
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Comfortable working on construction and commercial sites
