We are seeking a High Intensity CBT Therapist/ Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to join our dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a unique branch of mental health at a time of unprecedented expansion and growth. The post holder will have the chance to make a significant difference to residents in the East of England and to be part of the development of the expansion of our service.
The successful candidate will be an energetic and robust individual with sophisticated and sensitive clinical skills, and a proven track record of delivering high quality services in either the NHS, social care or the private sector.
Various working locations and remote working across the East of England. Some evening work will also be required.
Main duties of the job

The service covers the South West of England and the majority of our work is completed online (although face to face appointments may be required depending on service needs).
- Assess and treat people experiencing gambling harms and co-occurring needs, and maintain associated records on the electronic patient record system.
- Provide high-intensity, evidence-based psychological interventions; these will include at least Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Motivational Interviewing for people with a broad range of needs.

- Undertake clinical audit and service evaluation activities to support the development of services relevant to client needs.
- Develop best-practice knowledge in working with people who gamble and promote expertise in this area, including supporting research projects where appropriate, with the guidance of the Clinical Lead.
In order to be shortlisted for this post, applicants must be qualified and FULLY accredited with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP).
Working for our organisation

The post-holder will have a working base at Milton Keynes but the role is likely to be largely remote working. There will be an expectation of delivering services in other locations across the East of England region to be agreed once demand is clear.

We're proud of our diversity and we continue to undertake new initiatives to advance equality for LGBT+, BME and people with disabilities to promote good relations and understanding between our staff.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
