THE ROLE
Due to expansion we have a very rare and exciting opportunity for an experienced Residential Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive at Associate level and above to join our Private Wealth Team primarily based in our Marks Tey office.
This role is a unique opportunity to deal with high net worth clients and transactions; taking on high quality and complex matters. In the Private Wealth Team we take on less work than the “average” conveyancer, for higher fees; our focus is delivering outstanding client care and service consistently.
You will work alongside a Partner, Senior Solicitor and Paralegal dealing with a broad range of residential property matters. You will be located in our Private Client Hub, working alongside the wider Private Wealth Team consisting of Private Client and Family colleagues.
The ethos of the Private Wealth Team is to offer a bespoke legal experience; we offer a professional and friendly service tailored to our clients personal needs. Our reputation means a great deal and you will be joining a small team that really value delivering outstanding, unrivalled client service levels on every matter.
You will have the opportunity as part of the Private Wealth Team to be actively involved in our business development and marketing strategy, including taking part in our annual Private Wealth Seminar, and writing articles for our bi-annual Private Wealth Briefings that are distributed to our high net worth clients and contacts, along with other marketing opportunities with local estate agents and third party contacts.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced residential property lawyer to build on and expand our existing caseload and create their own brand within a well established leading Law Firm in Essex. The role offers the chance of progression, management responsibilities (if desired), and to work within a small collaborative team in a friendly atmosphere.
This is an excellent time to join H&H; having invested heavily in our growth over the last few years, we are now in a very strong position to continue to prosper and succeed. The Private Wealth Team is a relatively new team within H&H and this role offers an exciting opportunity for the right individual.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
