Position Overview And Job Description
Purpose of Position
This position will be based out of a construction trailer at various construction sites around the US, for anywhere from 6 to 30 months, and upon completion of that job, transitioning to either remote work or to another job site. This position will, on behalf of a project owner, primarily focus on overseeing the high-voltage (HV) electrical works on site to monitor all things associated with HV electrical works, including applicable contract and technical compliance, owner and IE HV electrical issues coordination with the EPC contractor, and electrical aspects of the construction of utility-scale renewable energy projects.
Principal Responsibilities
- Plan, direct, and coordinate HV electrical infrastructure activities at the project site, including those with general contractors, their subcontractors, their vendors, and HV electrical related work for renewable energy generation and energy storage projects.
- Oversee construction contractor as an owner’s representative for all HV electrical infrastructure and equipment construction activities including the construction of substations, point of interconnect switchyards, project HV gen-tie transmission, and/or utility transmission lines to be transferred post-construction to the utility.
- Work with the construction manager on site and the project manager to support the HV electrical aspects of subcontracts, project scheduling, change orders, and controlling cost of project within the approved budget.
- Serve as the HV electrical contact with the HV contractors and their subcontractors in the field, and communicate effectively and responsibly.
- Responsible for reviewing HV electrical specifications and drawings, executing site HV electrical QA/QC activities, and communicating any HV electrical issues and discrepancies to the appropriate party.
- Participate in the receipt and inspection of equipment and materials as applicable.
- Responsible for reviewing and maintaining HV electrical project records.
- Work as a team player with effective written and oral communication skills.
- Willing to travel frequently and/or relocate to jobsites in multiple states every 6-12 months.

Education and/or Experience
- 5+ years of experience as an electrical technician or inspector on heavy industrial and/or high voltage construction or operational sites with HV electrical infrastructure, with preference for experience with renewable power plants.
- Project experience must include heavy high-voltage-specific electrical projects, preferably complex renewable power projects.
- Experience with gen-tie line or transmission construction (69 kV to 345 kV) is required.
- Demonstrated understanding of plans and specifications for high-voltage electrical work.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, and problem-solving techniques.
- Conversant with computers and working knowledge of MS Office, MS Project, and document management systems; e.g. Microsoft SharePoint.
- Demonstrated ability to oversee both union and open shop site electrical works construction.
- Working knowledge of OSHA requirements.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Embraces the use of technology for fulfilling job responsibilities.
- Comfortable working at heights and able to perform essential physical functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation. This includes working in scissor lifts, occasional lifting up to 50 lbs., meeting the weight requirement of safety gear (310 lbs. or less), and working in PPE such as arc flash suits/facemasks and high voltage gloves for extended periods of time.

Compensation And Benefits
- This is a full-time, salary, exempt position.
- This position will generally be located at a construction site within the United States. When a project is completed, the position could transition to remote support or be relocated to another job site in the US, based on company needs and employee growth.
- Compensation range $95,000-145,000, depending on experience.
- Benefits include medical, vision, dental, retirement, short-term disability, long-term disability, life insurance, AD&D, statutory worker’s compensation, unemployment insurance, general liability, errors and omissions, activity reimbursement, paid vacation, and paid sick leave.
