⚡ WE’RE HIRING – HIGH VOLTAGE ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN ⚡
Jones & Father Ltd are looking for an experienced and motivated High Voltage Electrical Technician to join our growing team.
We specialise in high voltage electrical engineering, switchgear maintenance, installation, testing and commissioning, working with clients across a range of industries.
🔧 The Role
The successful candidate will be involved in:
- HV switchgear maintenance and servicing
- Installation and commissioning of HV electrical equipment
- Inspection, testing and fault finding
- Preventative and corrective maintenance
- Working on LV and HV distribution systems
- Carrying out electrical testing and producing accurate documentation
- Working safely in accordance with company procedures and industry standards
- Working both independently and as part of a team on customer sites

✅ Essential Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 Electrical Engineering or equivalent recognised qualification
- Relevant electrical qualifications and training
- Proven experience working with HV switchgear
- Experience in switchgear installation and maintenance
- Good understanding of electrical distribution systems
- Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and schematics
- Strong commitment to health & safety
- Full UK driving licence
- Willingness to travel and work away from home when required
⭐ Desirable
- HV Authorisation experience
- Experience with 11kV/33kV systems
- Inspection and testing qualifications
- Experience working on manufacturers' switchgear including Schneider, ABB, Siemens, GE or similar
- Experience with protection systems, transformers and RMUs
