The Seagate Derry / Londonderry Manufacturing site has been open for 30 years this year. We have over 1700 people working in our facility, which is among the most advanced in the world, in the design, development, and volume manufacturing of recording heads. These recording heads write information onto and read information from the recording disc, within the data storage device.

At Seagate, we're looking for an ambitious and motivated individual to join our Human Resources team as a Higher-Level Apprentice. This four-year programme combines practical workplace experience with academic study, giving you the opportunity to develop a professional career in HR while completing a BSc (Hons) Human Resource Management through Ulster University.

From day one, you'll become part of a global technology leader, working alongside experienced HR professionals who will support, coach, and mentor you throughout your apprenticeship.

Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, this challenging 4-year programme gives the opportunity to work at the forefront of technology, and you will be required to train with and support the existing Human Resources teams on a wide variety of technical skills. The Apprentice in Human Resources will be supported and mentored, gaining training in and exposure of the tasks and responsibilities detailed, reflective of a Human Resources professional.

About the role - you will:

Successful candidates will be employed by Seagate to gain valuable experience in our thriving global manufacturing business while studying for a BSc (Hons) Human Resource Management degree qualification with no fees or costs associated with higher education. Throughout the four years you’ll develop invaluable skills in all elements of human resources, supported by close mentorship and academic guidance from Ulster University.

About you:

We're looking for someone who is eager to learn, enjoys working with people, and is interested in building a career in Human Resources.

You will demonstrate:

Essential Requirements - You must:

  • Be aged 18 or over by 1 September 2026
  • Meet the entry requirements for the Ulster University programme
  • Have GCSE Mathematics at Grade C or above (or equivalent)
  • Have GCSE English Language at Grade C or above (or equivalent)
  • Achieve A-Level grades of BCC
  • Provide predicted grades with your application if you do not have your actual grades.

Your experience includes:

Entry Conditions - Human Resource Management BSc (Hons) at Ulster University 2026/27 entry - Full-time Undergraduate Study in Belfast

  • GCSE Profile to include Mathematics with a minimum Grade C or accepted equivalent qualification.
  • GCSE Profile to include English Language with a minimum Grade C or accepted equivalent qualification.
  • A Level Grades of BCC

Interviews will take place week commencing 31st August 2026

This is a Full-Time position working 39 hours per week (Monday to Friday), 4 days on-site working, 1 day at Ulster University in Belfast. During some of the years course study, the time on-site at the University in Belfast may be 2-3 days per week, but usually it is just 1 day per week.

Having successfully completed the 4 year development programme, candidates will move into a full-time Human Resources Assistant role. You will be working Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5pm each day (39 hours per week).
