About the Role

St Edmundsbury C of E Primary Academy is looking for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to cover classes across the school from Reception to Year 6. We are seeking to harness the talents of driven, aspirational, and dedicated professionals, willing to develop and enhance their existing expertise to create memorable learning experiences for children.

To complement the professional work of teachers by taking responsibility for agreed learning activities under an agreed system of supervision. This may involve planning, preparing, and delivering learning activities for individuals/groups or short term for whole classes and monitoring pupils and assessing, recording, and reporting on pupils’ achievement, progress, and development.

What you will need

We would like to hear from committed and ambitious individuals with a desire to achieve good outcomes for children of all backgrounds and the school. You will be ready to tailor teaching and monitor progress so that every child achieves. The school offers ample opportunity for staff to take on additional responsibility, and we value candidates who show vision, enthusiasm, and a wish to develop.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
