Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council,
They say not all superheroes wear capes – no, they just work here!
Cape Primary School is a vibrant and inclusive primary school based in the heart of Smethwick. We pride ourselves on our wonderful staff, children and community. We are a ‘Good’ school in all areas in our most recent OFSTED inspection (June 23). Inspectors said that “Pupils are happy at Cape Primary School. They appreciate belonging to a community where they feel cared for and where their differences are celebrated. This is a place where everyone feels included. The ‘Cape Eight Values’ underpin the curriculum and pupils are proud of the rewards they receive for resilience, kindness and independent learning.” We are therefore looking for a brilliant HLTA to join our team. You will be responsible for delivering PPA cover for teachers across the school but predominantly in Early Years and Key Stage 1.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
