We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our education team at Gulliver's Activity Centre.
This is an exciting opportunity to support children and young people who require alternative educational provision. Working alongside teaching and pastoral staff, you will play a key role in helping pupils engage in learning, achieve positive outcomes, and develop confidence both inside and outside the classroom.
As a HLTA, you will support the delivery of high-quality educational activities, work with individuals and small groups of pupils, and assist teaching staff in creating an engaging and supportive learning environment. You will help manage classroom activities, contribute to planning and assessment processes, and support pupils with varying educational, emotional, and behavioural needs.
The successful candidate will be committed to providing a child-centred approach, building positive relationships with pupils, and promoting inclusion and achievement for all learners.
This role may involve working across our Rotherham and Doncaster sites, so flexibility and the ability to adapt to different educational settings will be important.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
