Amblecote Primary School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, talented and committed Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our successful and nurturing school community.

We are particularly interested in candidates with a specialism, qualification or strong interest in Music, who can inspire our children through both curriculum and enrichment opportunities.
At Amblecote Primary School, we are incredibly proud of our recent Ofsted inspection (May 2026), which recognised the many strengths of our school. Inspectors described Amblecote as a place where "Pupils flourish", highlighting our inclusive culture, ambitious curriculum, strong behaviour and attendance, and the excellent pastoral support provided for every child. The report recognised that pupils feel "included, valued and listened to" and praised the warm relationships and sense of community that underpin success throughout the school.
About The Role
The successful candidate will:
- Deliver high-quality learning experiences for individuals, groups and whole classes.
- Provide PPA cover and short-term teaching cover across the school.
- Lead targeted interventions that support pupils to achieve their full potential.
- Use assessment effectively to monitor progress and inform future learning.
- Provide pastoral support and contribute to pupils' personal development and wellbeing.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and leaders to continually improve outcomes.
- Plan and deliver engaging music lessons across the school, promoting a love of music and helping pupils develop their musical knowledge, skills and confidence.
- Lead and further develop music provision across the school, including performances, enrichment activities, whole-school events and extracurricular opportunities.
We Are Looking for Someone Who:
- Holds HLTA status.
- Has experience of working successfully with primary-aged children.
- Demonstrates excellent classroom practice and high expectations for all pupils.
- Is committed to inclusion and ensuring every child can thrive.
- Has excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Can work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Is enthusiastic, creative and committed to continuous professional development.
- Has a passion for music and the ability to inspire and engage children through high-quality musical experiences.
- Has the confidence and expertise to teach music across the primary age range.
- Can play at least one musical instrument, which would be a distinct advantage.

Recruitment Process
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to participate in a lesson observation on Wednesday 7 October 2026.
Following this, candidates who are successful at the lesson observation stage will be invited to attend a formal interview on Thursday 8 October 2026.
We warmly welcome visits to the school, tours will take place with our Headteacher, Mrs Cook, on:
- Thursday 17th September at 10.45am
- Tuesday 22nd September at 3.45pm
