Location: Glossop, Derbyshire

Salary: £24,000 - £31,000 per annum (dependent on experience and qualifications)

Contract: Full-Time | Permanent

We are delighted to be working with a welcoming and supportive school in Glossop to recruit a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for a permanent position.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HLTA, Teaching Assistant, or Learning Support Assistant who is ready to take the next step in their career. You'll play a key role in supporting teaching and learning, leading targeted interventions, and helping pupils achieve their full potential within an inclusive and nurturing environment.

Role

Working closely with teachers and the wider support team, you'll provide high-quality classroom support while helping to create engaging learning experiences for pupils with a range of additional needs.

  • Delivering planned lessons and learning activities in the absence of the class teacher
  • Leading one-to-one and small-group interventions to support pupil progress
  • Supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including SEMH, Autism (ASC), ADHD, and other additional learning needs
  • Creating a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
  • Implementing behaviour support strategies, including PRICE or Team Teach approaches where appropriate
  • Monitoring pupil progress and providing constructive feedback to teaching staff
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, the SENCO, and the wider school team to achieve the best outcomes for pupils

You

We're looking for an enthusiastic and proactive education professional who is passionate about supporting children and young people.

  • HLTA status or be working towards a Level 4 Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Previous experience as an HLTA, Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, or in a similar educational role
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEN, SEMH, ASC, ADHD, or behavioural needs
  • Strong communication, organisational, and classroom management skills
  • A patient, adaptable, and positive approach to supporting learning
  • An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
