Job Opportunity: SEN Resource Base Assistant
We wish to appoint a skilled and enthusiastic person to join our SEN resource base. You will play a key role in providing targeted academic, pastoral and intervention support for pupils with identified SEN needs, which include Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Emotional and mental Health (SEMH) and ADHD. This post is offered on a fixed term contract until 31 August 2027.
Working closely with our SENDCo and resource base teaching staff, you will deliver targeted interventions, support students in class, and ensure every pupil receives the personalised support they need to succeed. You will also establish a purposeful learning environment, monitor pupils' progress, and promote the inclusion of all pupils in their learning activities.
The Successful Candidate Will Have:
- Met Higher Level Teaching Assistant standards, or have an equivalent qualification or experience;
- Experience of working with children aged 11 - 16 years in a learning environment;
- Excellent numeracy and literacy skills (equivalent to NVQ level 2) and the ability to use ICT effectively to advance pupils’ learning;
- A good understanding of child development, learning processes and statutory frameworks relating to teaching;
- The ability to relate well to children and adults, building successful relationships with respect and consideration;
- A commitment to promoting inclusion, raising educational achievement and challenging stereotyped views;
- The ability to work constructively as part of a team, understanding classroom roles and responsibilities.

Job Details:
- Salary Scale: Scale 6 (point 18 – 20) £37,509 – £38,637 pro-rata
- Hours: 35 hours a week, 39 weeks a year (term time only including 5 INSET days)
