HLTA – HIGHER LEVEL TEACHING ASSISTANT

The Governors wish to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated HLTA’s to join our committed and dedicated team. As we are a federated school, there is an expectation that you may be required to work across the primary school age range.
Requirements
The successful candidate should be proactive; show initiative and have a firm but fair approach. They should have the welfare and safety of our children at heart at all times.
Candidates should have the following qualities and experience:
- Holds HLTA qualification
- Has experience working across the primary age range educational establishment
- Excellent education levels in English and Maths
- Can confidently lead whole-class learning during PPA, planned absence, and emergency cover
- Brings energy, initiative, and a positive attitude to every day
- Builds excellent relationships with pupils, staff, and families
- Experience of providing support to children with varying challenges
- Ability to adapt to various working environments and children with differing abilities and / or needs
- The ability to contribute to and sustain a high quality of educational provision for the children they work with.

The person appointed will have high standards and expectations in all areas of school life and will be committed to a teamwork approach. They should have good interpersonal and communication skills and a caring attitude. They should be flexible in terms of working patterns. The successful candidate will be responsible for administering basic first aid, if required (training will be provided).

Safeguarding
The Federation of Abbey Infant and Junior School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable groups including children, and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. An enhanced DBS clearance and satisfactory references are therefore required for this role. This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to speak fluent and spoken English is an essential requirement for this role. Pre-employment checks will be carried out in line with KCSIE.
