Our Highly Skilled Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist - Lower Limb
You will be a Specialist Orthopaedic Physiotherapist in lower limb MSK.
Your Responsibilities
- Caseload will have a heavy bias towards the physiotherapeutic management of complex pathology.
- Includes analytical assessment, diagnosis, rehabilitation and management for complex lower limb orthopaedic patients referred by GPs, consultants and physiotherapists.
- Also includes radiological and haematological requesting and interpretation (X-rays / USS/ MRI).
- Undertaking specialist clinic weekly for the management of complex lower limb pathologies.
- Communication may well be challenging at times as patients being referred in will have generally already have engaged with MSK physiotherapy and failed to improve significantly, therefore through a combination of empathy and education, engagement will need to be sought.

Key Objectives
- To be the expert lead in the therapeutic management of lower limb MSK pathology.
- To build strong links with Orthopaedic Colleagues - to input in pathway discussions.
- To build links with the council and commercial providers incorporating local gym spaces into usual care.
- Strong education role working with a team of 60 MSK physiotherapists and exercise instructors.
- Work alongside Foot and Ankle consultants in elective clinics together with working within the hip/knee interface clinic.
