To work as an autonomous practitioner within the Southern Haemophilia Network, overseeing the provision of psychological care for adults and young people with Haemophilia and other inherited bleeding disorders.

The post holder will be an embedded member of the multidisciplinary team. The SHN is unique in providing comprehensive life span care for patients with inherited bleeding disorders across the south of England. Psychology has been an integral and highly valued part of care since 2014. The post holder will benefit from being part of an established psychology team with opportunities for training, CPD, and specialist supervision.

Form part of a growing service providing specialist psychological support to children and young people across the network.

Must be available to work Mondays. The post is primarily based in Bournemouth with some travel to Salisbury & Basingstoke.

To provide complex psychological assessment and therapy, at the same time offering advice and consultation on clients’ psychological care to non-psychologist colleagues and to other non-professional carers working autonomously within professional guidelines.

To work as an autonomous practitioner who is individually accountable for all clinical decisions within professional guidelines and whilst consulting appropriately with peers and receiving clinical supervision.

To be responsible for formal and informal teaching and training to healthcare staff about the psychological needs of the client group. To attend multidisciplinary clinics and meetings as appropriate to contribute to the wider work of the service.

To use research skills for audit, policy and service development and research within areas specified by the service, undertaking agreed personal research and development.
