Band 7 Highly Specialist Cardiac Physiologist - CRM
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Highly Specialist Cardiac Physiologist - CRM (Cardiac Rhythm Management) to join the Cardiac Physiology team at Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Cardiac Physiologist with expertise in CRM to support the delivery and development of our cardiac device service. The successful candidate will play a key role in the follow-up, assessment, and optimisation of patients with implantable cardiac devices, including pacemakers, ICDs, and CRT devices, ensuring safe, effective, and patient-centred care.
As a highly specialist practitioner, you will work closely with consultant cardiologists and the wider multidisciplinary team, contributing to service improvement, quality assurance, and the delivery of high-quality diagnostic and therapeutic cardiac services. The role offers opportunities to develop advanced clinical skills while supporting a growing and innovative CRM service.

About the Role
As a Highly Specialist Cardiac Physiologist (CRM), you will provide expert assessment, follow-up, and optimisation of patients with cardiac implantable electronic devices, including pacemakers, ICDs, and CRT devices. You will independently manage complex device clinics, identify and respond to device-related issues and clinically significant arrhythmias, and work closely with consultant cardiologists and the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, effective, and timely patient care.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert assessment, follow-up, and optimisation of patients with cardiac implantable electronic devices.
- Independently manage complex device clinics.
- Identify and respond to device-related issues and clinically significant arrhythmias.
- Work closely with consultant cardiologists and the wider multidisciplinary team.
- Support the training, supervision, and development of junior staff and trainees.
- Contribute to service development, quality improvement, and clinical governance initiatives.
