Highly Specialised Echocardiographer(s) - Echo Department

After a restructure of the Echo department at Harrogate District Hospital, we are looking for BSE Level 2 Accredited Highly Specialised Echocardiographer(s). Part-time and flexible working proposals will be considered. We are a District general hospital with a busy Cardiology service providing a wide range of investigations including physiologist led Stress echo, valve clinic, and contrast.

About the Role

We are a positive and supportive management team open to any working patterns that support the role, including compressed hours, job sharing, full or part-time working. There is no on-call commitment; however, the successful candidate will be expected to rotate to the CDC hub at Ripon.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform ultrasound scans on a range of outpatients and inpatients, including adult congenital heart disease patients (ACHD), recording and interpreting images obtained.
• Work to British Society of Echocardiography standards, adhering to all protocols and guidelines of the society.
• Vetting and triage of reports.
• Monitor wait times and alert service managers to issues in a timely manner.
• Partaking in the team quality control of reports and images.
• Formulate detailed Echo reports to be personally verified and issued to consultants.
• Undertake clinical supervision and training of junior and trainee physiology staff and other professional groups.
• Participate in Continuing Professional Development and other developmental activities, including research and clinical trials.
• Work with Team Leaders and the Service Manager in further developing the clinical physiology service.
• Maintain professional registration at all times.
• Be responsible for the care and maintenance of the ultrasound equipment.
