About the Role

Tameside and Glossop Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) is based in Stalybridge, Tameside. A multidisciplinary team providing mental health services to children, young people and their families. The service has well-established links with Education, Children's Social Care and Voluntary, Community, and Social Enterprise organizations.

Main Duties

  • Ensure systematic provision of high-quality clinical psychology input to CAMHS
  • Undertake direct assessment and intervention with children, young people and their families
  • Supervise psychological work provided by other staff within the multi-disciplinary team
  • Contribute to risk assessment and management as part of the core CAMHS duty offer
  • Offer training and consultation both internally and externally to partner agencies
  • Work autonomously within professional guidelines
  • Utilise skills for audit, service evaluation and service development

Essential Criteria

  • Post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology (or equivalent) as accredited by the BPS
  • HCPC registered (or eligibility and commitment to be registered before start date)
  • Assessed experience of working as a qualified clinical psychologist at a specialist level
  • Experience of working with children and young people presenting with the full range of clinical severity
  • Experience of working with families and carers
  • Experience of teaching, training and/or professional and clinical supervision
  • CAMHS experience essential
  • Use of a car or access to mobility to travel across Tameside
