Location: Birmingham
Career Level B / Professional (NHS Band 7)
Salary: Up to £52,000 DOE
Hours: Full Time 37.5 hours per week but flexible options may be considered.

St Andrew's Birmingham is a 125 bedded adult mental healthcare facility comprises of eight units that cover medium and low security for both Men and Women. Located in Stirchley, a vibrant area in South Birmingham, easily accessible by road networks and public transport.

The Role & Person
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled enthusiastic HCPC registered Dietitian with excellent communication, varied clinical skills with particular experience of supporting patients with Diabetes and Weight management, an interest in collaborating with the onsite catering team to deliver patient menu’s and leadership skills to join our friendly and supportive team at St Andrews Healthcare Birmingham site.
Meeting nutritional needs in a Mental health setting can be challenging but very rewarding with the opportunity to make a significant difference to patient care. Support will be available from your line manager and colleagues within the hospital team.
This post would be ideally suited to an experienced Band 6 Dietitian wishing to take the next step in their career progression and have the opportunity expand their leadership and clinical skills or an established Band 7 Dietitian seeking a new challenge and career direction.
You will be the sole Dietician at the Birmingham site so will have ownership of the work completed so can really make changes and improvements you feel are needed. You may also have the opportunity to manage a small caseload of patients with eating disorder / disordered eating. Previous experience of working with a variety of nutritional needs and an interest in mental health would be desirable for this post.

St Andrews has a strong ethos of multidisciplinary working and has close links with Speech and language therapy, physiotherapy and the ward teams. The dietetics team also works closely with the on-site catering team who provide a fresh cook catering service, which is tailored to patients’ needs.
