Job Opportunity: Highly Specialist Occupational Therapist

We are delighted to introduce occupational therapy across our all age Home Treatment Teams as part of the service delivery model designed to enhance community based crisis care and improve outcomes for people over 18 years who are experiencing a mental health crisis.

This is a unique opportunity to shape and develop occupational therapy provision within a dynamic multidisciplinary team, bringing an occupational perspective to crisis intervention, recovery-focused care, and admission avoidance pathways. As a newly established role, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to influence service development, strengthen occupational therapy leadership within the team, and contribute to the future direction of home treatment services.

About the Role

As the Highly Specialist Occupational Therapist within the team you will be providing expert occupational therapy assessment, formulation and interventions for people who are experiencing acute mental health crisis and their families. Your occupationally focused interventions will support recovery, independence and participation in meaningful occupations. You will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to support people to remain at home during a crisis and support timely discharges from hospital.

Promoting health and independence for people who use our services and their families/carers/support staff by delivering high quality occupational therapy assessments, interventions, formulation, and consultation.

Provision of clinical leadership, supervision, and guidance to the team and others as required.

These will be undertaken within an accessible, non-stigmatising, service that contributes to the specialist needs of the individuals referred.

Surrey is a beautiful county lying just 30 minutes away from Central London and from the South Coast. Our historic market towns and bustling districts are enveloped in wonderful countryside, and our excellent road and rail networks bring the rest of the country within easy reach. For international travel, both Gatwick and Heathrow airports are nearby.
