Band 7 Highly Specialist Occupational Therapist
Older Adult Mental Health Occupational Therapy Service -
Aberdeenshire Health & Social Care Partnership
Permanent or 12 months fixed term (secondment considered with support from current manager)
This is an opportunity for an experienced, innovative, and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join the Older Adult Mental Health Occupational Therapy Service and newly established multidisciplinary Enhanced Dementia Support Service for adults living with Dementia who present with complex psychological needs or distressed behaviour.
Responsibilities
- Carry out specialist Occupational Therapy assessment
- Provide occupation-focused treatment in a variety of settings
- Support multi-disciplinary formulation
- Work closely with other members of the Enhanced Dementia Support Service and with colleagues in the Older Adult Mental Health Service and wider health and social care system
- Contribute to service development/quality improvement, service evaluation, and audit
Requirements
- Experience working with older adults and supporting people living with Dementia
- Proficiency using relevant standardised and non-standardised Occupational Therapy assessments
- Involvement in quality improvement and service development
- Ability to use initiative and work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Work Environment
- Primarily community-based, including home visits
- Main base within Glen O’Dee Hospital in Banchory
- Work across a variety of sites/clinical settings
Additional Requirements
- UK driving licence and access to a car required
- Flexible working, including evening and weekend work, may be required

Additional Information For Candidates
- As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part-time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
