Band 7 Physio - Heart Therapy Team at The Royal Brompton Hospital

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Heart Therapy Team at The Royal Brompton Hospital as a Band 7 Physio. The post holder will work in a multidisciplinary team consisting of Physio, OT, SLT, Dietetics and Psychology and cover Critical Care including cardiothoracic surgery and ECMO, HDU and the private patient wards.

The post holder will receive weekly training, have access to 10 days of study leave a year and access to regular research and QI workshops.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake a high specialist team leader role alongside the physiotherapy clinical specialist in delivering the physiotherapy service to ITU and the Private Inpatient Physiotherapy ward on a day to day basis.
  • Take a lead role in the advanced assessment and treatment of patients within the speciality who may have highly complex needs, and to determine clinical diagnosis and physiotherapy treatment indicated, maintaining records as an autonomous practitioner.
  • Be responsible for the supervision of junior team members within the private inpatient physiotherapy team.
  • Work collaboratively with wider members of the heart therapy team to provide high quality care for private inpatients and NHS patients on critical care.
  • Be responsible for the continuing professional development and overall performance of the private inpatient physiotherapy team.
  • Play a significant role in the continuous development of the Trust as a member of the Rehabilitation & Therapies Management team and as a potential member of a range of Trust quality/ process improvement project groups.
  • Implement a cohesive working relationship with key stakeholders on Sir Reginald Wilson Private Patient Ward and Critical Care.

This role will require staff to work in a variety of clinical areas including intensive care and other critical care areas, operating theatres and recovery, and wards.
