Are you passionate about neurorehabilitation and looking for an opportunity to shape and develop physiotherapy within a specialist neurocognitive service?

We are looking for an ambitious Physiotherapist to lead and develop physiotherapy provision at Cygnet Afon Las, a brand-new specialist service in Corwen. Whether you are an experienced Band 7 or a strong Band 6 ready to take your next step, we can offer structured support, specialist supervision and a unique opportunity to establish physiotherapy provision from the outset.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference to the physical function, mobility, independence and quality of life of men with complex and enduring neurocognitive needs.

Your Role

Summary

The post holder will work at Cygnet Afon Las, leading and developing physiotherapy provision as part of the interdisciplinary team.

Service Line: Neuropsychiatry

Salary: £40,505.60 per annum

Hours: 32 hours

Contract: Permanent

Start Date: March 2027

Cygnet Afon Las (Corwen, Denbighshire)

Cygnet Afon Las is a brand-new, 15-bed neurocognitive service for men, scheduled to open in early 2027. The service will provide specialist assessment, treatment, rehabilitation and longer-term support for individuals with complex and enduring neurocognitive needs who may be unable to access more traditional neurorehabilitation services or live safely and independently within the community.

Individuals may present with long-standing acquired brain injury, cognitive impairment, dementia or other neurodegenerative conditions, sometimes alongside complex physical health needs. Some may also have complex risk histories, including previous offending, and may be subject to Ministry of Justice restrictions.

Afon Las will provide a structured and therapeutic hospital environment in which individual needs and risks can be safely supported. Referrals may be received from a range of pathways, including community, neurosurgical, neurorehabilitation and custodial settings.

Through interdisciplinary working, the service will maximise person-centred outcomes, physical function, mobility, independence and quality of life, while keeping each individual at the heart of their care and rehabilitation.

The dedicated clinical team will provide interdisciplinary input, including occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech and language therapy and nursing.

Physiotherapy Lead

Under the leadership of our Professional Lead for Physiotherapy, support is provided to each other across the group, with the opportunity to be part of specialist interest groups & become involved in service development.
