Job Opportunity: Senior Physiotherapist
We are looking for a motivated and versatile team player to join our therapy team within the Surgical team to lead on 3 surgical wards working within the MDT. These wards cover several surgical specialties such as general surgery, elective orthopaedics, gynae-oncology, and neurosurgery.
About the Role
The Royal London Hospital is offering an opportunity for a Senior Physiotherapist to work in a specialist role in the advanced assessment, treatment, and clinical management of patients across the surgical service.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for Physiotherapy; excellent communication skills, plenty of initiative and enthusiasm with the ability to work autonomously and as a part of the wider MDT.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership across the RLH Surgical & Vascular pathway.
- Undertake a team leader role, working alongside the Clinical Lead Physiotherapist and fellow Band 7 therapists, in planning, coordinating, delivering, and evaluating the physiotherapy service provided for patients across the Surgical & Vascular Pathway.
- Take a lead role in the assessment, treatment, and management of complex patients including those who have had surgeries under the specialties of general surgery, elective orthopaedics, gynae-oncology, neuro-surgery, neuro-oncology, trauma, and vascular. The role includes occasional cross cover onto the Vascular ward with patients who have had major amputations.
- Communicate effectively with other health care professionals, social services, and outside particularly regarding patient care, progress, and planning of rehabilitation and/or discharge needs.
- Be responsible for the day-to-day clinical and operational management ensuring professional delivery of the physiotherapy service with support for the Surgical & Vascular Therapy Team.
- Work with the Clinical Lead Therapist to develop the service to best meet changing health and social care agendas. Provide clinical leadership and skill development to the Surgical & Vascular Therapy Team.
- Deputise for and support the Clinical Lead Physiotherapist when and where required.
