The Service Covers

The Outpatient Neurology service provides outpatient care for Stroke, Parkinson's, MS, and Vestibular patients. You will lead a team of a 1 x band 6, and band 4 Physiotherapy technician. There are established land-based classes to aid patients’ rehabilitation and self-management of their neurological condition. We require the applicant to use innovative thinking and strong working relationships and excellent clinical skills to maintain and enhance high standards of care.

The Outpatient neurology service at Northwick Park provides rehabilitation to a very diverse caseload. It requires the applicant to have a broad knowledge of neurology, an ability to empower patients and their families to follow a rehabilitation approach and to self-manage their condition.

  • You’ll manage service development projects across the Adult Therapies department, as well as support the wider MDT to continue to develop a bar-raising neurology outpatient service.

We’re looking for an HCPC-registered Band 7 physiotherapist who has experience gained in community outpatient, acute, and rehab in-patient services. In this key role in our teaching Trust, you’ll also need experience of supervising others in their day-to-day role. As you’ll get the chance to rotate, we’d expect to see evidence of the clinical application of core therapy and reasoning skills – as well as some knowledge of wide-ranging assessments and interventions for patients with varied neurological conditions. Developmental positions will be considered starting at a band 6 level and progressing to a band 7 position once key competencies are met.
