SENIOR HIGHWAY / INFRASTRUCTURE DESIGN ENGINEER
Manchester, (although some flexibility across several other offices)

Are you an experienced Highway or Infrastructure Design Engineer looking for your next challenge within a forward-thinking, multidisciplinary consultancy?
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join an established engineering design team, delivering complex highway, infrastructure and sustainable transport projects, with genuine scope to influence project outcomes and support the development of junior colleagues.
The Role
- Lead highway and infrastructure design projects from concept through to detailed, construction-ready design.
- Deliver highway layouts, active travel schemes and road-space reallocation projects.
- Prepare Section 278 and Section 38 highway approval submissions.
- Produce 3D vertical highway designs using Civil 3D.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary projects, ensuring technical quality and compliance with relevant standards.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring and guidance to colleagues.

What We’re Looking For
- Strong experience delivering highway and infrastructure design projects.
- Proficiency in Civil 3D and detailed highway design.
- Experience with local authority standards, highway approvals and urban constraints.
- Knowledge of BIM and Common Data Environments.
- Excellent communication, coordination and technical leadership skills.
- Membership of CIHT, ICE or an equivalent professional body.
