Highway Improvements Coordinator

Via East Midlands are currently seeking a Highway Improvements Coordinator to join our Project Services team based out of our Trent Bridge House Office in West Bridgford, Nottingham.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead the design and delivery of highway improvement projects, ensuring quality, budget, and programme targets are achieved.
  • Manage Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) consultations, ensuring legal compliance and effective stakeholder engagement.
  • Investigate and respond to TRO objections and enquiries, providing balanced recommendations.
  • Provide expert advice on traffic regulation orders, highway signage, and road markings.
  • Review externally designed traffic and highway schemes to ensure compliance with design and safety standards.
  • Work closely with Construction and Commercial teams to support productivity, profitability, and project delivery.
  • Maintain high standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance across all activities.

What We're Seeking:

  • HNC/NVQ Level 4 in Civil Engineering (or related discipline), or equivalent experience in a highway/traffic design environment.
  • Proficient in CAD software and specialist design and data management systems.
  • Strong knowledge of traffic signing, road markings, pedestrian crossings, traffic calming, and relevant design standards.
  • Understanding of Traffic Regulation Orders (TROs), associated legislation, and statutory processes.
  • Knowledge of health & safety, traffic management, and relevant highway engineering legislation.
  • Experience producing reports and working collaboratively with clients, stakeholders, and colleagues to deliver successful outcomes.
  • Full UK driving licence.
