A leading civil engineering contractor is seeking a General Foreman to support the delivery of a major highways infrastructure project in Milton Keynes. This is a long-term contract opportunity on a significant scheme with works due to commence shortly.

Your new role

As General Foreman, you will be responsible for supervising site operations and coordinating labour, plant, and subcontractors to ensure works are delivered safely, on programme, and to the required quality standards. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing site operatives and subcontractors on a daily basis
  • Coordinating labour, plant, and materials
  • Supporting the delivery team with short-term planning of works
  • Ensuring health, safety, and environmental standards are maintained
  • Monitoring productivity and progress on site
  • Carrying out site briefings and toolbox talks
  • Liaising with engineers, supervisors, and site management
  • Supporting the successful delivery of highways and civil engineering works

What you'll need to succeed

  • Previous experience as a General Foreman within civil engineering or highways projects
  • Strong understanding of site operations and construction methodologies
  • Experience supervising labour and subcontractors
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and quality requirements
  • SSSTS or SMSTS certification
  • CSCS card
