Highways Inspector

Business Unit: 5065 - Gloucestershire

Location: Cannop

Job Role

Ringway is seeking a motivated and conscientious Highways Inspector to join our Gloucestershire contract. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a career in the highways industry, with full training provided for the right candidate.

As a Highways Inspector, you will help ensure the safety and condition of the local highway network by carrying out inspections, identifying defects and supporting the delivery of maintenance activities.

Duties

  • Conduct routine inspections of roads, footways and highways assets.
  • Identify and record defects using handheld technology.
  • Raise works orders and monitor repairs through to completion.
  • Respond to customer enquiries and assist with investigations.
  • Liaise with operational teams, contractors and local authority representatives.
  • Ensure accurate records are maintained at all times.
  • Promote and adhere to health and safety procedures.

Person Specification

  • Have a keen eye for detail and enjoy working outdoors.
  • Can confidently make decisions and prioritise tasks.
  • Possess good communication and organisational skills.
  • Are comfortable using mobile technology and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Have a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Hold a full UK Driving Licence.

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: Full Time - 40 - Monday to Friday
