A leading infrastructure contractor is seeking an experienced Highways Planner / Delivery Technician to support the delivery of highways maintenance works across a busy local authority network.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with highways maintenance experience who can coordinate, schedule and monitor works programmes whilst ensuring safety, quality and performance standards are met.

The Role

Working alongside operational and maintenance teams, you will be responsible for planning and scheduling highways maintenance activities, coordinating resources and ensuring works are delivered efficiently and safely.

Key duties will include:

  • Planning and scheduling highways maintenance works across multiple repair teams.
  • Coordinating reactive and planned maintenance activities.
  • Supporting the delivery of carriageway and footway improvement works.
  • Managing works programmes through electronic works management systems.
  • Ensuring works instructions are checked, verified and compliant before deployment.
  • Monitoring performance against contractual targets and KPIs.
  • Undertaking site inspections and audits to verify compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Working closely with operational teams, subcontractors and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the contract.

Requirements

  • Previous experience within highways maintenance, highways operations or infrastructure delivery.
  • Experience planning, scheduling or coordinating maintenance activities.
  • SMSTS certification.
  • Traffic Management 12D M7 (Lantra).
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office and works management systems.
  • Understanding of highways maintenance activities, traffic management and health & safety requirements.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
