Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council,
Sandwell Council is looking for motivated and skilled Highways Road Workers to join our Highways Services team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a wide range of highway improvement and maintenance projects that make a real difference to residents, businesses and road users across the borough.
About The Role
- Repairing and maintaining roads, footways, kerbs and drainage systems.
- Operating highway maintenance vehicles, plant and specialist equipment.
- Installing and maintaining traffic management systems and road closures.
- Carrying out excavation and reinstatement works.
- Installing highway furniture and associated infrastructure.
- Supporting emergency and winter maintenance operations when required.
Essential Requirements
- NRSWA Street Works qualification covering operative units.
- Full current driving licence.
- Minimum 12 months experience in highway maintenance or repair.
- Experience operating construction plant and equipment.
- Knowledge of health and safety legislation and safe working practices.

This is an excellent opportunity to join Sandwell Council Highways Services and play a key role in maintaining and improving the borough’s Highway infrastructure. You will work within a professional team delivering essential services to residents, businesses and road users across the borough.
