Summary
A vacancy has arisen for a Highways Special Events Officer within the City Operations Division. The post will be part of a team that assess and authorise applications for special events and associated activities on the public highway ensuring that all relevant Corporation policies and procedures are always adhered to.
The postholder will be the City’s representative in respect of highways and traffic management activities at meetings/events as required including those with City & Metropolitan Police, Event Organisers, Transport for London (TfL), and neighbouring boroughs such as City of Westminster.

You will proactively manage road closures on the day of events resolving any problems as they arise ensuring disruption caused is minimised in the interests of the City’s stakeholders.
You will be the City’s key contact for event organisers for allocated events on the highway and coordinate to the planning of such events from application through to delivery, advising on the suitability and availability of locations.
