Hire Controller – 9 Month Fixed Term Contract
Location: Glasgow
Contract: 9 Month Fixed Term Contract
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:30 – 17:00 | 42 hours per week

We have an exciting opportunity for a Hire Controller to join our Glasgow team on a 9-month fixed term contract.
Based within the depot, the Hire Controller plays a vital role at the heart of our operation, providing excellent service to our customers and ensuring the hire process runs smoothly from start to finish.
Relationship building is key to success in this role. You will coordinate the entire hire process, from taking customer orders through to arranging delivery and collection, working closely with colleagues across the depot to make sure our customers receive the right equipment, at the right time.
On a day-to-day basis, you will be predominantly desk-based, working closely with our stock teams, drivers and engineers to minimise delays, resolve queries and ensure we consistently deliver a great customer experience.
What You'll Be Doing
- Handling customer enquiries and processing hire orders
- Coordinating the hire process from initial order through to delivery and collection
- Building strong and positive relationships with customers
- Liaising with stock teams, drivers and engineers to ensure equipment is available when required
- Keeping customers updated throughout the hire process
- Resolving customer queries quickly and professionally
- Supporting the wider depot team to achieve operational and customer service objectives
- Identifying opportunities to provide customers with additional products and services

What You'll Need
For us to help you on your journey to success, here's what you'll need:
- Strong organisational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A customer-focused approach
- The ability to adapt in a busy and fast-paced environment
- A commitment to learning and developing
- A full UK driving licence
- Previous experience within the hire industry or a similar sales, customer service or operational role
- The ability to support your business unit and team in delivering our ESG Strategy – Decade to Deliver
