Job Title - Hire Desk Controller
Location - Newport
Working Hours - Mon - Fri, 07:30 - 17:00 - 42 hours per week
Temporary Contract - 12 Months

About The Role
As a Hire Controller, you'll be at the heart of our depot operation, ensuring our customers receive an exceptional experience from enquiry through to collection.
No two days are the same. You'll work closely with customers, drivers, engineers and depot colleagues to coordinate the hire process, ensuring equipment is delivered on time, collections are arranged efficiently and customers receive the highest level of service throughout their hire journey.
Your ability to build strong relationships, communicate effectively and keep multiple priorities organised will be key to your success.
What you'll be doing
- Managing customer enquiries and processing hire orders from start to finish.
- Building lasting relationships with customers through excellent service and communication.
- Coordinating equipment availability with depot colleagues to meet customer requirements.
- Liaising with drivers, engineers and stock teams to ensure timely deliveries and collections.
- Resolving customer queries quickly and professionally.
- Supporting the depot team to maximise utilisation of equipment and deliver operational excellence.
- Maintaining accurate hire documentation and system records.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve depot performance and customer service targets.
- Supporting the delivery of Speedy's ESG Strategy – Decade to Deliver.

About You
We're looking for someone who enjoys working in a busy environment and takes pride in delivering excellent customer service.
You'll Bring
- Previous experience within the hire industry or a similar sales, customer service or operational environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- A proactive and adaptable approach to problem solving.
- The ability to build positive working relationships with customers and colleagues.
- A commitment to learning, personal development and continuous improvement.
- Good IT skills and confidence using business systems.
- A full UK driving licence.
